    Okuma VS 200 Baitcaster Reel.

Anyone got any experience with this reel?
While researching possibilities for a new Bass outfit, including getting advice on a separate thread here, I came across this reel.

What sparked my interest was a suggestioin to get another spool for my current Shimano Curado 200. The Okuma VS 200 comes with a spare reel out of the box. The manufacturers write up sounds good (but of course it would .

But I know nothing at all about Okuma reels. Most of my 'better' reels are Shimano.

Suggested retail is $267, but it can be bought in Australia for $210 and on eBay for around $170.

My inclination is to stick with the brands I know and trust, but it's always worth checking out new products. You never know what you might find.

they are a very smooth reel and from memory have the easy opening sideplate for maintenance and swapping spools. if its just for bass then yeah i think it will do the job, i have heard of okumas not performing as well as shimano with bigger fish etc.
