The Caldia Kix 4000 is actually made in Japan the other sizes like 3000, 2500, etc are made in Thailand. I thought this to be a little strange considering I paid more for my Sol 2500 than a Caldia Kix and it's still made in Thialand.

Daiwa Caldia KIX 4000 and Shimano BTR 4500B...which one is most suitable for charter boat???
I am thinking of loading both reels with 30lb Power Pro Line.
Be matching it with 6-7 ft 6-10KG rod
Cheers

I'd be going for the Caldia Kix 4000 it's a metal body stronger drag and is an overall better reel than the baitrunner. The only advantage of the baitrunner is the baitrunner function which I feel isn't that important it's mainly an advantage when the rod is in a holder unattended. Comes down to price though the Caldia is about $100 more than the baitrunner so have fun choosing.
