to stop them from sticking, get a soft pencil and rub the lead on the male part of the join. it'll coat it with graphite and reduce the friction... in theory ...![]()
I simply wet mine with spit.......never had one stick yet so I wouldn't have a clue how to part 'em.

You'll probably need a mate to pull from the other end as well.
Once they are apart, a light sand & a bit of vaseline or reel grease should stop them sticking again.
If you can't get them apart, you have a new "one-piece"

If they stay stuck after the tug test try heating just the outside of the joiner with a lighter IF the joint is metal. It just may expand the metal enough to free itself. And you have to pull fast before the heat gets into the inside bit (hope that makes sense??)
Don't try heat if the joint is glass![]()
the easiest method i've found is sititng on a chair etc, and placing the rod behind your knees with the join in the middle, grip each part with the back of your knee's and then move your legs apart
If it's a metal ferule it may be terminal if it's a glass join put on a pair of tight fiting dishwashing gloves and bed the two sides firmly in the crease of your hand where your fingers meet the palm and twist, works every time for me,especialy on the new two piece jigging rods.
you could try standing rod upright wrap some plasticine just below join, to make a well then spray some wd40 and leave overnight.i have been told when assembling and dissassembling, to put end on offset ,then twist to alighn the ferruls straight.not just push on or pull off.

Can't say I've had this problem, but I reckon abit of saliva will do the job. Perhap's a fair smear of butter on the join and a bit of sunlight could do the trick aswell. WD40 would do it with ease, any penetrating lubricant would do it, but I would never use it on my fishing gear. All it needs is a little bit of the stuff in the water where your fishing and the fish will pick up that scent just like that.

I had the same prob for over 12 mths. evety other day I sprayed some wd.40 onto the join and tryed to twist. just kept on using the rod untill one day I noticed the join had moved a bit, turned it back the other way and then it came apart. I was lucky as I was able to store the rod the whole time in one piece
Rainbow Trout is NOT skittle flavoured fish.........
Snot a bad idea dogsbody
