    How much bigger for leader??

How much bigger should my leader be then my main line. For instance, if i am using 8lb fireline, what size leader should be the max??
    thanks

It would help to know what species are you targeting. As a general rule though go as light as possible

Hey Boogdude, Just a quick rundown of my fireline rigs:

      4lb fireline - 8-10lb leader for Bream

6lb fireline - 10-15lb leader for Flathead and toothy critters

14lb fireline - 25-30lb leader for Jacks and real busting run, snag haunting species.

I'm sure you could go alot lighter but after trial and error these work the best for me. And I still get busted off occasionally. Hope that helps a little mate.

      Cheers Dave

        Hey
It really depends what fish you are targeting. If you are chasing bream i wouldnt go heavier than 6lb leader. For flathead go around 10-15 as they do tend to rub through light leaders.
It really just depends on what you want to catch and as snakecatcher said, go as light as posible.

I sometimes actually go lower than the breaking strain of the braid. Have gone as low as 2lb fluro on 4lb braid when the fish are really shut down. Horses for coarses
