Pull through cast nets!
I went looking for a supplier for a new cast net. I have been using a cheapy from the bait shop for the past couple of years but want something with a little more weight in the bottom and of better quality. A guy tried to sell me a pull through net instead of a top pocket. I have never heard of them so thought I would ask for feed back from the members here! Any one heard of or used one of these nets? The idea looks sound, but so did a stainless steel car a few years back! It never took off either

Mate i only use draw string nets these days. I find they catch a lot more per cast and you can empty them with one simple pull of the net. For those 2 main reason, i will always use such a net.

Thanks for the feed back fellas, I will have another look at them now. I will be chasing prawns mainly but never having had a top pocket dont have a benchmark to compare too.

Y-NOT, have used both , I've now gone back to bottom pocket but mate swears by draw string.
The only thing I didn't like about drawstring is that as it ages the drawstrings have a tendancy to get tangled amongst themselves.
Not sure if others have had the same problem.
Where as the standard net , if a pocket breaks you just tie it back up again.
