Diawa Capricorn $150

For those in the need of a late Chrissy Present (for themselves), Anaconda has Diawa Capricorns on special for $150.00. These are a great reel, and at this price a steel. Normally retail for twice that. I bought a 2500 and layby'd another.

Here is a website (american) that did a comparison between the Shimano Stradic and the Diawa Capricorn. The Diawa came out on top, even if only by a small margin.

They are doing the 4500, do not know whether it is a "J" or not.

Capricorn is a great reel however, it is being discontinued by Daiwa and probably explains the low price.

I own a few tournament reels from Daiwa and have had difficulty getting parts for them recently. The reels were actually sent to Daiwa for servicing.

Just be wary if anything is needed down the track.
