Had a ripper of a trip to awoonga dam this week. Only two fish landed - BARRA! - 45cm, and 70cm. Both within half an hour of each other, on Gold Bombers. The weather was very hot and sultry, and we had a storm the night before. Most people were landing the odd barra, and a great atmosphere was to be had in the caravan park. Had a few other hook-ups, lost a gold bomber to a monster. Heavier gear next time for sure (gotta be more than 20lb).Quite a few red claw around as well, all good sized. Will definitely return to this spot!!!
Sure did Luke, he was camped next to us - has a tattoo of a bass on his guts, right? We all got along great and fished and pi$$ed on together - had a ball!

Heading up on January 13th actually staying at Turkey Beach but making a couple of journey's across to Awoonga, hope I do half as well ( 1 will do ) it'll be one more than I've caught so far.

Barra cove - just around the corner from the boat ramp. We kept trying again, but we couldn't pull anymore out of the same spot!
