i am coming to cairns from the uk and would like to have ago for some barramundi and would like to know some places to go

Depending on how long you will be there it may be better to get a guide. This will save you a lot of time trying to work out places and techniques and might save you going home without catching one. Have a look at http://www.ausfish.com.au/crcs/
