    g'day all
i follow Jaybees line of thinking. i would gladly support a rec anglers license that depended on passing a general fisheries knowledge test. something covering the importance of breeding stock and promoting effective conservation methods. its one thing to return undersize fish but another to return them with some chance of survival. such a license would need strong penalties however as i am getting sick of slap on the wrist crap. a particular favourite is the confiscation of equipment. not very effective if the person is using an old bottle with some ratty line wrapped around it!
    cheers

Yer i tend to agree with Landy. I think it is time they introduce heavy fines also.

    Couldn't agree more guys but............

You can make the laws as tough as you like but they still need to enforce the laws.

I've been fishing regularly in the same spots for 12 months now and I've yet to spot a Fisheries Officer.

Complaints to the Dept about other parties taking undersize fish just seem to fall on deaf ears.

I just can't see that an Inspector is going to hang around boat ramps and popular spots at midnight ?????? Regardless of how much we contribute in licence fees.

I don't really have a solution either, but I would like to take to those other buggers with my solid wood gaff......

I feel better with that off my chest

Yer i dont think ne one has a solution begsy and they wouldnt hang around a boat ramp at midnight either like u said but if they introduced heavier fine it would at least discourage it.

    Cheers
