I was speaking to a mate last night who speared a nice spaniard (only 120cm - still nice) on the outside dropoff around The Group off North Straddie. Was speared mid water & was in a school of about a dozen similar size. Surface water temp around the group that day was approx. 25 degrees (pretty warm) & there were a lot of 2ft yellow tail kings around as well.

Anyone heading to the cathedrals this weekend / flat rock might be worth pulling as lure as you pass thru. Just thought I'd let you know - don't find the spanish that close too often.
