Caloundra 12mile
After a late decision sat arvo, headed to mooloolaba sat nite and slept in the car park next to the ramp, wanted to get out early before the arvo wind change, on the water and out through pt cartwright by 4.30am, winds around 10kts, headed straight for the 30m on the 12mile, few rigs already out there, anchored on a few marks we have, and had a enjoyable morning with plenty of parrot, and not quite legal emperors, pinkies were a bloody nusiance, and wouldnt mind a dollars for everyone we halled in, but parrot were the go, bottom basher, floaters they took everything.
By lunch the wind was really picking up around the 20kts so we decided , to head in and once again a slow trip back pushing into it.
Still a great day, only used squid and fresh mullet.
Sorry Dom and Sam should have taken you this weekend and instead of last. back home and tubed by 5pm.
This wind is really starting to become a pain. Never know northerlies to last for so long and be so consistant.
regards

Re: Caloundra 12mile
Hi Brian, Some nice eating fish there mate.....yep those northerlies are a real nuisance.
Did you use the DR to catch those parrot?
The southeasters cant be far away and the fish seem to bite better in this prevailing wind.
Saturday morning at Wello we had the tide and wind in opposite directions so the boat hardly even moved off our gps mark until the current slowed down.
Must try out my DR in the rainbow soon hopefully to catch a parrot or three.
Cheers Brent
