Fished the Bohle River yesterday with my son Cameron.
Fished up in the skinny water of the system first for jacks and cod there was plenty of baitfish around and we had a few hookups on live mullet but the fish beat us into the snags.
We then moved out towards the mouth after about an hour and a half as there was no breeze up amongst the mangroves and it was like fishin in a suana.
Caught two Barra both around the 3 to 4kg mark fishing in the deeper holes towards the mouth while fishing for Grunter bream. Both fish where promtly released, the system seems to be full of Barra at the moment and there pretty hard to avoid.
Fished the incoming tide at the mouth from about 1630 till 1900hrs throwing around gold halco slices and small raider lures hooked plenty of small queenies around the 1 to 2kg which we released. Managed two keepers around the 3 to 4kg mark, and lost some big things that just would't stop, excellent fun on small spin gear.
Other fish caught for the day where whiting,Grunter,Fingermark,Bream and plenty of bleeding catfish.

Overall a good day out, there was plenty of fish in the system although we had too put in a full day and worked hard for em..

Cheers Smithy.......
