Offshore from Pt lookout to seaway.
Todays story, much the same as yesterday.
Launched at paradise pt about 730, head to the pin bar, crossing ok had to pick the sets though. Head north toward pt lookout about 30 ks away but pull up 20 ks out in 40meters because of flying fish and birds.
Drop a teaser out, then a pusher behind it, before the lures in position the teaser comes alive, a sail has taken it, 3 more lines are quickly deployed resulting in bills slashing the lures but shaking the hooks before they were set.
Heading back to the cottons, when some terns are spotted pull the pattern through patch and all 4 lines go off sails exploding out of the water, holy s##T mayhem, 2 come unstuck while the teaser comes in, I fight mine for a while and the hook pulls But Johnno holds himself together and after 20mins a beautiful sailfish is in his grasp, he holds it swimming by the boat and I click some shots, We talk about that fish all day
Its only 12, so we head back via the seaway trolling all the way, don't site any more action, not a click of ratchet other than the spaniards that stole 1 lure and demolish another, In the seaway by 330, broadwater had a fair number of boats out despite the seabreeze.
Cheers

Re: Offshore from Pt lookout to seaway.
trolled se of Southport seaway in pretty good conditions this morn........
out at 4.30am, four pusher's out the back, covered 1/2 of the Gold Coast for a nil result....bout five hrs...
havent trolled much on the coast, so thought we would give it a good go...
no baitfish schools, no birds working.......thought we were in for a chance...but, no...... the only schools sighted were the schools of boats..they were everywhere.
we were going to the cottons but changed my mind in the seaway and went se instead... (bad move)
maybe I should go invest in one of those teasers.... but I dont think that would have helped down there today...
back at the ramp by 11am and home for some zzzzz's

Re: Offshore from Pt lookout to seaway.
Predator, the action was still a fair ways north of the cottons, if its any comfort Broke the golden rule of leaving fish to find fish we did, The blacks just were no where to be seen, around the boats I saw anyway, sounded similar SE ???
George Size in kg, I'm really not sure, 2m long perhaps, Sent johnno weak at the knees I know that. Id call it and the rest we found mid range size for these parts.
6-10kilo rods with tld 25s 45 kilo trace and 5-8 inch lures, 8/0- 10/0 hooks rigged single and free swinging.
