I checked out one post called "Maldives Fishing report". One of the replies has a couple of photos of what I think are tailor. They are massive.

Nicola gets around , that is for sure and that tailor , yes it is big however I am not sure if he caught it in Maldive though , must be Indian Ocean sub species ????

Think that tailor you mentioned argo Phill looks like some sort of large trevor to me.....kinda had a head like a tailor but the body was more like a trevally.
