    Wello Point 13/2

Alarm went off at 2.30 am, poked my head out the window of my room to reveal only a light South -Wester blowing, great conditions for Wello.

Got to the ramp at 4.00am and headed out to my usual spot. For the purpose of this report, let's call the location,'Pine Tree between crevice in big mountain', I can't give too much away .

Got anchored up and had just put a line in the water when a boat came out of the darkness to almost drop his pick on top of me
It turned out to be a friend of a friend who was given the same 'Marks' as me. The Bay can be a small place at times

As usual for this location, we had a burst of bites and fish just on daybreak. Our boat landed 3 keeper fish during this small 'Window' of opportunity. 35 cm Sweetie and a quality 40 cm sweeite as well as a 4 pound Morwong. Kept an eye on the guys in the other boat, I think they had 5 reasonable Sweeties and A Parrot.

All in all a nice couple of hours on the water as I was back home by 7.30 am.

    Cheers
    Craig.

Hey Craig you did ok for the time you were out there...good to hear the sweeties are back.
Morwong seem to be a popular catch at Wello this year...ive heard of 3 so far.....all around the size you mentioned.
We use to catch the odd parrot off Wello 5 years ago but they are pretty scarce these days.
What baits were you using today? and did you loose a box of hooks to catch those fish?
Might be out there this weekend if the weather is kind.

The sweeties didn't go anywhere aquarius, you're just annoyed you didn't get any! lol. I've got some photos of the ones I got on fri night in 8ft of water, as soon as I work out how to get them out of the sony and into the computer I'll put them up. You did well craigie, 40cm is a beaut grassy from the shallows and top eating size too.

    Hi Guy's,

yes we were happy with our mornings catch. 40 cm is the best Sweetie that we've pulled out of Wello in my boat. All our fish were caught on Frozen Squid. The reef was quite snaggy in this area, I think we did about a dozen hooks between the three of us.

Those Morwong have been common this year. I've seen a few caught over the last couple of months from the same location at Wello.

Might have to check the weather and see if I can get back out there in the next couple of days.

    Regards
    Craig.
