    Bribie Passage on Saturday

Arrived at donnybrook boatramp about 6:30am on saturday morning and while waiting for dad to park the car i hada cast with the net and bagged meself a few prawns of about 12-15cm. Goodstart . Anyway we headed over to mission point dropped the crab pot and headed to a spot we knew of . Well only small fish here so we headed back to our crab pot. got a crab and he got stuck down the back of the boatbehind a sheet of alluminium that supprts the battery shelf, cant explain it real good but we couldn't see him. > >. Took us bout 15 mins to get him out with the thong tied to the siphon hose dragged through. 8).

Then headed to our spot X up there 8) . Had adrift over and got a few bream. Then we anchored up and got a whiting or 2 a few grunter which ive never caught before, tastes good hey. Then a suprise, ??? my little rod bent over and it pulled off a bit of lineand headed for the mangroves, away it came and after a little while i pulled up a slate bream of a bout 1.4 kgs. . These are usually found a bit offshore are they not ??? ???.

Then headed back to get the crab pot and another muddie . All in all not abad day with plenty of other bust offs/bite offs.

NIce feed that night, Those prawns were tops!

    Regards, Lachie

Well done sounds like you and your dad had a great day. The passage is a nice area to fish and can produce a few suprises to say the least.

Looking forward to getting there myself very soon.
