Hi Freddie, the day we were testing this rig, we tried chrome lures and bait.
But they would take either and the baitfish they were feeding on were fairly small, so tried some 3" shads on 1/4oz heeler jig, the jigs were the biggest i had on board.
But found the hook was too weak to stand the impact of a mack' hitting them, except for 1 unlucky one that manage to hook up.
Couple of picks attached that i sent to Randall showing him what happened to his shads.
One rig as you can see the hook and shad got demolished.
While the other shad although severely mauled by the teeth hooked up.
They should work with a stronger jig hook.
