    Western Bay Sat night

Fished just off the channel into the Brisbane River on Saturday night with a mate of mine. Left Pinkenba late in the arvo and had a play around the beacons leading in for a while. Got some livies and went and anchored off the mount near dusk. Were fishing 2 rods each when the first went off and my mate brought up a 4 foot Wobbygong. Mine next, 4 foot Gummie. This was the start of a procession of sharks for the whole night. I estimate we would have caught somewhere between 25 and 30 for the night. They were coming that quick that we had to revert to one rod. Tony got a few squire but only throw backs. We didn't keep any but had a ball catching them.

Had a bit of a gander at the QE II. Saw it come in during the am and saw it leave pm. Pity we don't have a decent port for passengers, they just tied it up on the very first wharf near the container ships. Not exactly a glowing picture of Brisbane to be left with.

    Cheers, Clutter.

We were at the last beacons when the QE II left and then headed NNE for a play over near the Jap ship that was anchored there. We headed back to our other spot before it got dark. Did see a boat heading out towards Mud early in the evening.
