First pic
Good day fishing was had by myself and Jaybee.
Left Brisbane at 2am Saturday morning and had the boat in at Moolooaba by 4am where we proceeded to Point X which is about 17fathom mark.
Bait fish caught were yellow fin.
Had the lines in the water by 5.30am. First catch snapper x 2 then on to position Point x 2 which is at 16 fathoms where we stayed for the rest of the day for catches, Red Throat sweetlip 800-1000grams, followed by a Parrot of same weight, next but not least the prise catch of the day Red Emperor weighing in at 2.5 kgs followed by a Red Harry and 2 Grinners. Time to move again to another reef about 3kms off shore where I caught the Coral Trout weighing in at 1.250 - 1.350g.
All fish were of legal size. Photo's following.
Cheers Denis (Wombat)

Hi Lachie, was fairly ordinary on the way out before sun up. no white caps but settled fairly well, only a couple of spots of rain most of it (rain) was on the land it appears as at times we couldnt see the land as it was shrouded in rain. we got soaked when we got back tho putting the boat on the trailer
cheers.
As long as u had fun though joe
Cheers, Lachie
Looks like you guys did alright.. i ventured out that same day.. went for my 21st b'day fish.. u might have seen the white seahunter with 100% artificial stickers down the sides.. we headed upto coolum.. only managed a few red emperor.. no macks or tuna tho and on the way back in, stopped at Old Woman Island and snagged a few monster squid for tea
Tim
A little bit to the south and east of you rev # talking to my bro tonight, he is thinking of going home (brunswick heads) and heading back after the weather settles, he was told and given a spot by a local where you can catch some nice red emporer fishing the same as you do for bream. # # # getting there is the problem at present. he did manage to get out again on Sunday and scored a nice feed of red throat sweeties, maori cod and a couple of xos parrot
cheers.
i indeed have heard of a spot much like that not far from here.. maybe an hours drive.. where you launch your boat from the beach.. hope you and him do well when you fish next...
Tim
thanks zeeke bro is now home he stayed up there until last week, wasnt able to get out in that time, plans are for a winter attack however we didnt fare too well last winter.
cheers
i reckon winter is great for fishing outside.. the swell aint bad, hardly any waves.. so u can fish comfortably, not catching any fish, rip out the squid jigs and give them a whirl.. hehehe.. i know Coolum Reef fires during winter, pinkies, snapper, red emps, parrot (blue bones), yellowtail kings and a few other critters are around
