tuna bust ups

the tuna have arrived on the yamba break wall . we fished it at the weekend and the tuna turned it on big time . sunday morning saw a dozen fish hooked but none landed some were lost to sharks ,some were to big to stop ,and the rest were because most of the people fishing ,my self included werent pepared for the power of these fish . our gear just wasnt up to it . at one stage there was a triple hookup and all three were spooled in under a minute . grown men crying all along the wall , funny now but devastating at the time . l thought my penn 950 with 300 m of 30 pound line would have had enough clout , wrong wrong wrong . anyway that afternoon we went back with bigger reels and did manage to land one tuna that went 12 kg and another guy up the wall got two twice the size . the fish should be around for at least another month .so if you enjoy getting your arms pulled off give the yamb wall a go .cheers

Sounds like a top day. Were you fishing the Iluka wall??

Also what was teh bait used and where did you catch it?

I have only ever fished the Iluka wall once and had a hard time catching bait.
