    where to fish in brisbane?

anyone know where i could go
fishing in brisbane, that is maybe
20-30 mins drive from the main city?

i tried to do some reading over the net, but found the information quite
    unclear on the locations....

also, while i'm at it anyone know a good place to go crabbing?, i love eating crabs, i usually catch and release the fish even if it's legal size. but a legal size crab is just fantastic!

too broke to buy them at $12 a kg, so i gotta catch them myself with my $2 mullet bait if i want some...

place i used to go to, had some taiwanese boy died there and found him 2 days later half eaten. so err gotta hunt for a new spot now.

    would really appreciate the help,
    thanx!

Hi dexx, the crabs must of run big at your last spot

Down around the gateway can be good, plenty of crabs in the indooroopilly reach at times as well.

I'm only new to the fishing game but while i was landbased the spots i found good were.

Boggy creek - just look up your refidex and you will find a street runs along it for a while. There is a walk bridge with a boat ramp next to it which i have picked some bream up at. Couple of mud crabs too.

Deep water bend- near redcliff, there is a great facility there for land based fishing with shade cloth and everything. It makes for a good day and you will more than likely catch something.

Nudgee Beach- I didn't catch anything over sardine size there but it was probably something i am doing. as i said i'm only new to fishing and these places were good. Not too many snags and the odd bite to keep you interested.

    hi dexx,
deep water bend in bald hills is not too bad a place for land based fishing.

you could also try hayes inlet on redcliffe side of the hornibrook bridge or on the brisbane side of the hornibrook just to the right as your looking north along the concrete wall.

well mate if you have a boat and decide to go to deep water bend, DO NOT.... DO NOT leave your trailer and car there unless you have a padlock on the trailer. there have been quite a few trailers go missing lately. one day these pricks will be caught.

    have a good one .

    hey all,

thanx for the info. will definately try those places out.

gonna check out the coast tomorrow, will report if caught anything.

my rig, if i understand correctly that you're refering to my
    tackle setup?..

i one big loop on the main line, swivel, leader line with sinker
at bottom, two loops in the middle, and two err lines with
    hooks on them running out.

    err know what i mean?
