G'day all
went out for a shoofty round the bay on Sat arvo. started at Myora right on slack water and pulled some 30+ squire which went back in then things got quite as the current picked right up. headed of to the Platypus wreck and got bugger all then went over to Goat where we got moses perch, flathead, squire, shovelnose all undersize or vermin and Darren got cleaned up by something fairly spectacular. Just after that enormous moon rose over Straddie he got his floating pillie hit by something that peeled some line of under the drag on the Pen overhead and leapt out of the water several times before it cut the line. no idea what it was but he said he couldnt turn its head. ???
Anyway theres always next time.
Got inspected by fisheries at the ramp to, damn good to see.
cheers
Michael
Hi Michael, What did you think of the current in rainbow channel.
Did you have a try in the big eddie at the mouth of myora anchorage.
Should have headed north up the inner channel and tried for some parroties.
Hows the new toy going.
Great place the old rainbow ch.
regards
G'day Webby
the new toy is sitting in the garage waiting on a new engine. But we went out in a mates boat, dont think mine would quite cut it out there. We were right on that eddy at the Myora anchorage 13-14 metres under the hull and the squire came on hard and heavy at the slack water. Couldnt get a bait down when the tide turned though . interesting spot, i could have chucked the anchor onto dry land.
cheers
Michael
