Fished the last 2 weekends at Greenhills , about 1 hr south of MAckay.
Plenty of fish about with Flathead and Salmon being the predominant species. Good Keeper sized Bream up to 36 cm, hard fighting Steelheads( from the herring family I think) and half a dozen Mackeral to 60cm also caught.
Captured a total of 15 flathead over 50 cm long with the biggest caught today on the top of the tide. It was 85 cm long and 24.5cm across the head.![]()

All fish were released !!!
Interestingly , with the exception of 2 Flatties caught on lure, all others were hooked on herring, live or dead, didn't make a difference. Prawns, squid and live mullet did'nt get a touch.
Match the hatch I guess.
