Caloundra Report
hey guys,
just got back from caloundra and had a few reports. the mullet are going pretty strong now in the passage, and havent been to hard to find. over the weedy patches and depper holes near the banks theve been holding in most stages of the tide. we got 53 between the two of us in the boat each with a 10 top pocket cast net in about 1 and half hours. they averaged about 2 kilos and boydo those big females tow the net around. didnt hit em again as we had enough for the needs of us and the locals who enjoy a bit of mullet as well as their roe (doesnt appeal to me at all ....... ???) .
we also fished the beach at the northern tip of briie a fair bit and got some nice tarwhine and stud bream and yabbies and mullet gut, didnt touch the flesh. got 30 one night and a couple more on the inside of the bar on the very northern tip.
aslo fishes in the passge and i got my biggest bream to date at 1.2 kilos, a real horse and full of roe. got em on th banks at high tide with unwieghted yabbies.
all in all it was a pretty good time and i secured some excellent crab pot bait for my tin can bay trip..........mmmmmmmmmmmmm those muddies will be great. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
anyway see ya
