    Harrys to the Blue Hole

Did a nite trip friday to harrys and a little further north
to the entrance to the blue holes.
Didnt get out till around 10pm due me deckies car decided to shit it self on the way to my place.
Tried the chain and inner channel for some live whiting, but couldnt raise a scale, so dead bait was the go, slimies, squid and mullet fillets.
Did some drifts first from moreton banks out, and manage a few just legal squire, which we release.
Also scored a few choppers as they were everywhere.
Anchor up at a regular spot, and sent shit load of berley down as i had kept the frames and bit and pieces from our trip north.
Also let a couple of small choppers loose attached to a few 9/0.
By around 1am just before the high, Jeff scored first with a 6kg, then i was next, then Jeff again, by about 3am things shut down except for the bloody choppers.
Finish up with 3 at 6kg x 2 and a 7kg. The live choppers were still swimming around with not a scratch on them.
Moved north to the mouth of the blue hole, but only lancers and a couple of sweeties and a fair few rainbow runner, and a bream who must have been lost.
Jeff had fun for awhile with a small hammery.
Headed back in around 5am due to a storm brewing down the coast way, dont mind rain, but this one had a few of those silvery streaks coming out of it.
Anyway 3 good fish on ice.
Could have stay out all weekend the way the weather has panned out.
    regards

For Brian to call 'em a Snapper, they have to be hauled in with a Flying Gaff and Tailwrapped.

That's not a Downrigger on the stern of his boat either, it's an engine block lifter, that he uses to haul the Big Squire on board.

    hey brian
out of interest mate what happened to the fishies eyes on the right? They are dull and sunken the one on the left looks the same although the flash seems to have reflected off the eyes. Im not trying to be provocative but how could u catch such decent fish when it was blowing 25-30 knots?
    cheers jack
    p.s they are decent fish!

YEAH #- & that thing you're sitting on looks just like the bench out the front of Sam's Seafoods !!! #

    WHAT'S GOIN' ON !!!

I think Jacks been watching to much CSI on channel nine. #

They look pretty fresh to me - note the play in the gut cavity where Brians hand is gripping & the lack of puckering on the skin around his fingers, the freshness of the tail. I'd say been in an ice slurry for a couple of hours until Brian either stopped concentrating on the fishing or got into a bit of shelter to take a better pic. The eyes probably popped banging around in the slurry & the normal osmosis on a big eyed fish.

Gotta agree though the picture is crap. I reckon the shutterman grabbed the focus over your shoulder then brought it back onto you.

Jack dont no where you got the 25-30kts from, if you read the report, it was as flat as your backside .
CSI/Blue Heelers/Homicide/Four Corners might as well invite the Simpsons
Sam's Seafood Naah, I wait for the trawlers at the mouth of the river and pick the best
As for cressbrook, bretty boy who put you onto the fish they werent bad squire we had for lunch up there ???, or where they baaassss.
Santa Craig, thoses little ones up the pin are the babies from the bigger ones further south
No ice on the boat just the deep freezer
Now all i need is a third degree from Mr phill.
    regards
