Morning Everyone - how's the rain
Got a couple of us heading to Moreton on Thursday morning till Sunday arvo. Not taking a boat but will have a couple of kayaks. Taking plenty of plastics and live baits - mainly chasing the bread and butter eaties
Are there any recent reports or has anyone been recently - we will be camping on the Eastern beach toward the northern end and i guess will travel anywhere to find fish and stay out of the wind
At the end of the day it beats workin
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Fishing for the thrill, not for the kill
I fished there during the Straddie Classic with my mate Zorba.
The beach was a series of melon holes with a fairly solid outer gutter that had few breaks through it.
Mainly high water fishing - low tide was slow fishing.
There were some good low tide water a hundred metres from the Cape end.
Not many tailor but plenty of bread and butter species - bream, whiting flathead - dart were a little scarce in the melon holes.
There were lots of small sharks after dark.
Tailor Bite was the pick on the western side.
There was a bloke in a small tinnie who rowed out off the northern most wreck just south of the Bulwer camping grounds.
He was fishing the drop off 20 yards off the beach and had expectations of catching snapper - I didn't hang around to see but his mates were basicly standing there waiting for him to land the first one - they were pretty confident - using live bait I think.

My parents were there two weeks ago with some friends, they all scored plenty of quality dart, few tailor, couple of flathead and bream. All came from surf gutters between the Cape and Middle Rd. All were caught using bait (pillies mostly).
Did pretty well considering the 20-25kn northerlies that were blowing.

Thanks Guys - Appreciate the feedback
We camp not too far from middle road to the north so that will be good not treavelling too far - we all know that beaches change overnight tho
Not too sure i want to land snapper in my lap in a kayak - had enought trouble and scars with a flathead
We will give it all a good nudge
Weather seems to have pulled its head in a bit by the looks of the sunrise this morning - hopefully we will only have the breeze to worry about
Thanks again folks!
