Left Bribie boat ramp 4.30am with a average feel about the day. Got to the corner of skirmish pont and our feelings were right average weather. we punched across the bay and jigged livies around 1 of the beacons. Dexcided on fishing western rocks with floaters and heaps of bearly. Managed 2 cobia heaviest being 14.6kg and the other 8kg. Had a few other big hits but most of been something toothy, biting through 150lbs jinki. All in all average day and can't wait for better weather to go chase some bigger fish.
Hi 620sf ,
It sounds like the day was still worthwhile with a couple of nice Cobia .
I often hear of people talking about Western Rocks , can you give me a rough idear where & what depth it is ?
I believe that it may be off Combie Pt ?
Regards
Peter

hi searaider,
i don't know how to excactly say were it is i would have to say about 1km or so past combie, and 500 to 800 meters off the beach, its coffe rocks its really the start of what they call the trench. Its patenice fishing using lots of bearly and floating livies under ballons. The water death is around 10 to 12 meters in that area. Some days it can be really rewarding and other days dead boring, but thats like anyspot really.
