    lee

    the 10 kg snappa
    well
i have been chasing one of these for the past 13 years and it has eluded me ??? ???
i think deep tempest is not the place, but in the shallow grounds.
what about the spot you anchored on for a night fish
problem would be the trawlers coming and going during the night.

i noticed snappa, i could be way off the mark but opimax killed his and put in in a slurry immediately and yours flopped around didnt go into a slurry, nice fish but snappa, almost as good as a pearl perch drag is on strike

    mack....

this may not be the case
look at the others on top of esky
    except
for the small one caught out deep.
the snappa was only left in net for couple of minutes untill i got the other line down and set.

    snappa....

im not sure what your trying to say ??? yes i had another look, and to me none of the fish went into a slurry and all died slowly, so whats the story ??? fish to be kept on my boat are given the "welcome to first grade son treatment" then straight into a icy slurry, they tend to look bright like opimax fish not john west rejects.

I also noticed Snappa that non of your fish had been bled. I have found that fish, bled immediatly & then placed into ice give a good photo with good colouring if pulled out later. Not to mention improving their eating quality.

Taking a pick as soon as the fish is out of the water gives best results. Often still lightup & dorsal fins erect.

Some of its got to do with a lot of things.
Depth of water, what they have been eating, if you let a fish die out of a slurry or dont put the knife to it to kill it quickly, rigamortis sets in faster and the lactic acids effect the colouration, or depending on the way the photo was taken and the sun reflections, take your pick.

Love that optimax! What a gorgeous boat!!!! Just a quick question, why are they sooooo much more than other boats. I know with boats you get what you pay for, but from what I've seen, the cruise crafts (particularly the outsiders) are well and truly on the upper scale of boat prices. Mind you, if i could afford one, there would be no hesitating in getting it.

How it go compared to the cat?

giday dr_dan very happy with boat, priced lots of boats but cruise craft was the one i wanted after the test ride. i think the haines is better ride into the sea, but i think the c/c is better at rest & in a following sea. anyway every one got differing ideas on there choice of boats. never been on a cat (twin hull ) so can`t comment on them lee

NO FISHING this week end i am working for a change

    need to buy more hooks

so i will leave the spot x snappa for you
    but dont take too many

lee i believe my snappa s color was connected to the area i caught them amongst the kelp
i too put mine on ice and these were the only ones i have notice with the different color
