    My First Barra!!!

On the 2nd of November 2003 at the woolwash lagoon i finnaly pulled in my first and seccond barramundi. When i pulled it in we didn't have a tape measure so i measured it on my fishing rod then when we got home i measured how long it was from the tip of my rod to the seccond last runner. It turned out to be 83cm. I caught the smaller fish out of the canoe (good fight).
here is a picture of both of the Fish.

Nice fish mate. You have caught 2 more barra than me!
Hope to rectify that in the not too distant future.
What part of the world is the woolwash lagoon located?
    Cheers,
    Jeff

Couple of well conditioned fish you got there mate, would have given you quite a good tussel. Not bad for your first 2 thats for sure. Did you get them on lure or bait? Very very well done. Look forward to seeing your next 2.

Well done mate . When I was growing up I fished the Woolwash and Yeppon lagoons every weekend. We used to catch a lot of Barra then as well as some horse Tarpon, it is good to see there are good fish still in there.

    Gorrilla_in_Manila,
The Woolwash is a lagoon system on the outskirts of Rockhampton, it winds it's way to the Fitzroy river.

    Re: My First Barra!!!

i was using lures mostly this same nilsmaster they were goin for in the woolwash lagoon located in (rockhampton which is in queensland, Australia)
we go out chacing tarpon and end up getting an even better fight with a BARRAMUNDI.

The first barra pic in the list is the 85cm he took about 15minutes to get in

but the only problem is that i think we together have caught all of the fish in the lagoon

From my dealings with barra and tarpon
I have found Tarpon to be a better fighter poun for pound
(my opinion anyway) cyahs out on the water
