    Pixie Reef Cairns Sunday

Headed out on Aqua-Cat with a couple of mates for a spot of reef fishing. Day was fairly quite, with the fish really only biting for an hour or so around the change of tide. We ended up with 10 trout, 1 small mouth, 1 large mouth, a handfull of sweetlip, 3 big trevally, a number of undersize red emperor, a heap of little cod.
Came home with 5 trout and 2 sweetlip.
One of those days when the weather was awsome, fishing wasn't too crash hot. But a great day out on the water regardless.

yeah, didn't try for mackies. Had a big pillie drifting out the back for a little bit, but didn't put int the hard yards.

What do you normally fish the reef in? Pixie didn't seem that far from yorkeys, looked like a possibility in my tinny. Not that far out by the looks of it.

much in the daintree at the moment?

Got a 14ft Savage runabout. Only got a 25 on the back. Goes bout 20mph, so takes a while to get out anywhere worth fishing. looking at putting a 40 on the back, but don't think that the funds will allow it for a while.
