Went across to maggie today with kiel. The whether was beautifull with the biggest waves we saw coming from the hull of the boat when we rocked it. We sounded around the western side of the island to find some good reef structure. Every cast was getting runs with pilchard and only landed one 50 cm red throat emporer. we changed to herring and silver biddys which we cast netted yesterday, ended up landing 4 coral trout between 39 and 45 cms and some sort of wrass , not sure what sort it is but it will be in my belly by nightfall. before we left we decided to have a troll with some raiders and deep divers and we hooked up to a spotty on a deep diver minnow which would have been atleast 75 cm but it spat the hook just as kiel reached down to grab him.
For the first time ever i was able to cruise at WOT all the way there and all the way back at lunch time. Looks like this whether is holding up for a few more days but i dont think i will get another chance before it all fouls up again.
