IM LOOKING TO IMPROVE MY FISHING
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH WAY THE WIND IS BLOWING OR WILL BE LATER IN ANY GIVEN DAY BEFORE I GO FISHING
IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A WEBSITE THAT YOU COULD LOOK IT UP OR ANY OTHER METHODS YOU GUYS USE TO DETERMINE WIND DIRECTION
THIS WAY I RECKON I COULD PLAN MY FISHIN TRIPS BETTER AND CATCH MORE FISH

Where are you located? A Easterly wind would be onshore in the Eastern states and offshore in the Western states.
In SE Qld, a S-SE wind in considered the best for offshore fishing. SW is good for beach fishing. NW is the worst wind for offshore fishing.
I don't pay that much attention to wind, tides, moon. Life is too short. I plan my trips, but I'd rather just be fishing if the weather is good enough to be out there.

reasoning forwid direction is that i use baloons to get my live bait from the rocks, and if a on N-E is blowing its hopeless
so i would like to know when S-W is blowing

We get the SWers in SE QLD in August and Sept, sometimes they can come through a bit earlier. I think you get the westerlies in winter also. Not the best time of year for live baiting for pelagics!!
When I used to LBG, I used a polystyrene bobby cork and found a wash that was going out to sea and put the bait in there. That will take your bait out for you.
There must be heaps of other people who LBG off the rocks of the Central Coast down there. What do they do?

Lows in southern hemisphere go clockwise and Highs go anticlockwise. So if you see a low on the weather map centered to the southeast of Newcastle, you should be getting SW winds. Keep in mind there will be local weather effects though.
I find wetting my finger and holding it in the air just before going fishing is one of the best wind direction predictors around. Certainly reliable and current for your area.Then go fish a spot that is suitable for the wind.
If you fish breakwalls you can throw either side.
Also as Jeremy said you can use the current to take the bait out. In northern NSW in most places I have fished, there is often an outgoing rip on the southern side of headlands and breakwalls where you have a fair length of beach to the south. If you got your float or balloon into that rip, even with a northerly wind, you would end up fishing out to the southeast of where you are standing.
