    Harry Atkinson

Went out in search of mackerel from the Rouse to the Sandhills at moreton. Only saw a few tuna working up some bait but they moved on quickly. Bay was a bit uncomfortable at first so we stopped at the HA. Scored some nice grass sweetlip on whole squid, a total of 3 legal for the day. Also got onto the usual nursery of squire and bream, but we also landed a 45 cm morwong. The morwong was released as they tast like SH#T. Then the bay went like glass and we headed to moreton. Trolled some lures on the way back but couldnt see any action any where ? Where have the mackerel gone ?? jeezus. maybe that SE pushed them up towards the cape ? Anyone else have luck on friday ?
oh well it was a good result for what looked like a crap day

    Hi Vertigo ,
Fished all over the paddock looking for Mackeral , Tuna etc .
    NO JOY .
Left Cabbage Ck at 6am headed over to the eastern side of Mud , once we got past Mud it was chopping up a bit from the south with maybe 10 knots South wind .
Tried 15 ,18 & 20 mtr depths East of Mud 2/3 of the Way to the Sand hills , Not a bird or a bite to be had anywere .
About 10am moved up to the E4 beaon , the S/E one at the 4 beacons .My deckie droped one Mackeral , saw birds working twice in the middle of the channel between the E4 & 5 .
As we were anchored didn't get a chance to have a go at them .
As Brownies early morning forcast had changed from 15 knts SE with early light morning SW winds to 15 to 20 SE winds ???At 11.30 headed back across the bay to the Measured mile beacons , my deckie got one small schoolie at the southern beacon .
I couldnt believe the weather it glassed out around lunchtime , got back to Cabbage tree at 2pm .
Didn't see any other Birds or fish , working anywere .
At least it turned out a good day on the water .

Like Vertico said, it ain't hard to find on Saturdays. You will be flat out trying to find somewhere to drop your pick.
