    tweed river 29/2

Whats a crap day. went out for an afternoon fish, the river looked mighty good for barramundi(if only we were in there area) but after the reasent rain and minor flooding in my area it was as brown and muddy as a strong cup off cofee. plenty of sea mullet cruising up and down the river but nutting gettin into em. didnt even take a rod from the holders all night. set the crab gear and scored 7 good size legal bucks so it wasnt a total loss i guess. if anyone was thinkiing off a trip to the tweed river any time soon give it a good month or so and it will be going off. cheers all bigal

    G'Day Bigal,

Went camping down your way on the weekend. Camped on the Tweed, Sunday being ok, but Monday just about got blown away. Packed up Monday morning just as the showers hit. Only managed a quick fish on Sunday with nothing really to report, just some rubbish and throw backs. Planning to stay Sun to Tues, but the weather put paid to that idea.

    Cheers,

7 bucks is nuthing to groan about al!! mudcrabs are tops cooked in chilli sauce.. mmm.

I will agree though, i fished the pin area on sat and sunday only to come up with a very sad effort of a couple of flathead. Threw plastics all day, think they were elsewhere or they had lockjaw.

usually we can score 20+ and get the oppertunity to be selective of what we keep. nearlly always get three or four early reasonable buks and score the big fellas later in the night, so it as simple as keeping em alive and tossing all the smaller ones back. 7 this time was almost all we got sept forone under size jenny which was returned.
