peel 7/3/04

hey guys
fished around peel this arvo and got in after dark i got a couple of bream and a few sweetlip but not much else its so flat out there after the recent winds i was tempted to go around tangas but wasnt sure if it would pick up so i played safety (wimped out)..lol

hopefully i will do better tuesday morning

G/day jeff at least you hit the water i did what a lot of boaties did and wiped the week end off after friday,sat blow, i did notice while i was down wynum way that it was very still but shit happens ! Where did you fish around peel ? i use to fish S/W rocks a bit always got fish there (only one prob was all the peanuts that thought the closer too the green at S?W the better ! gets a little bumpy with a 35 ft cruiser.Do you nomally go to tangas from peel area ? Did you drop in at RABY ? Always next week !

I played it safe also and went to the lee side of green I. Caught a couple of throw back sweetlips, and several good Bream. Had a pleasant day considering the previous several days.

i fished s/w rocks to the spit on the western side fish were all over the place never got 2 in one spot. i always use raby bay ramp as i am a member of the boat club there i get the ramp to myself cause of the times that i go fishing late arvo or very early morning and yes there is always someone who comes within 10mtrs of me when i fish at western side of peel > ??? ??? peanuts is not what i would call them....lol ...
i have nearly been run over by 20ft+ sailing boat 2 weeks ago

Better off fishing mid week, if you can; not always possible I know. Had a couple of close calls there myself, I can't repeat what I called them here!!

To a lesser degree Coochie can a problem too, along near the s/w beacon. Almost got run down there some time ago at night (yes my lights were on) by a 25ft plus yacht, which by the way, DIDN'T have any lights on. I invented some new words that night!!
