    Who Unleashed All The MacTuna

Went out off the Tweed on saturday morning with JB, Hoping to catch a few of thoose blues willo caught. But unfortunatley we had no luck... We were planning to go out catch a few livies and just sit and let them come to us but we had no luck even getting livies. So we went and trawlled our laser pros form Fidos to the nine mile and back and so on. 1st hook up was JB's and it was a good size mactuna so back it went because it was not much use to us. A few hookups of some incredibly small mactunas later on jasons behalf and I was up. Thought it couldnt be another bloody tuna but it was. We were defeated. So JB and I went back in to throw some plastics around. Jb hooked on to a nice 42cm lizzard after about an hours work and we called it a day. Good fun day plenty of laughs but nothing to bring home apart from a flatty hopefullty we'll have better luck next time!!

Hi Brad, down here at Brunswick Heads we are also getting hammered by the mac tuna ("Boof Heads"). I've found when targeting spaniards the best way to avoid the boof heads is to slow troll livies on a downrigger about half distance to the bottom. I have no idea why the boof heads dont hit the deep baits!! I troll in about 80 to 90 feet of water and tow my baits at about 50 feet. We have been having great success with this method the past week or so. Bagging out on Spaniards most days of late! Good luck. Capt Mark Mono Stewart

Have you got marks for the Scotich Prince? See sounder pic attached for amount of bait that hangs off wreck.
