Went up to corio bay this morning to do some fly fishing at the point.
It was rather slow and the sandbanks had changed around a bit.
I was there from 8am - 11am. Things were a little slow, but i had a few little flathead follow the fly in. biggest one being about 45cm's.
I caught a 2 1/2 foot long barracuda, i was rather impressed. Fortunately for me he didn't bite through the 40lb mono, but he was awefully close.
Nothing much else to report. few other guys caught 1 mackeral out further in their boat. Apparently they were chopping up the water everywhere, but they just weren't on the bite.
Thanks for the report. I'm heading up to Corio on Saturday morning with a bunch of Rocky based mates. As i have said previously, I havnt been there for quite a while so i'm looking forward to checking the place out again. We'll be putting in at Corbett's and heading down Waterpark Creek into the bay checking a few of the deeper holes on the ride down the creek and into the bay.
