Just returned from a magic day at Maroon Dam. Beautiful weather no wind, not to hot ,no skiers, no jet skis just me and the missus with the whole dam to ourselves. I could hear the birds chirping on the bank(is that what birds do -chirp).Tried out my new G.Loomis rod that i'm getting for my birthday next month.Tried out little grandsons new Penn Generation 55 reel and Shimano rod I bought him recently for his third birthday. The only blot on the day was the hanbrake spilling a cup of coffee on the boat carpet! She enjoyed herself sitting up the front reading a book. The fish- we cought six. One good one ,two legal,three babies, all released.All bass . - Great day -Beatle. [smiley=beatnik.gif]
its a great place to fish up there i travel from beenleigh on some sunday arvos, leave home at 2pm to fish there for an hour or so when its that late the ski boys are headin home and there is just fishos there with the exception of 1 group of farmers for bowie who have small ski boat. they turn up about 4pm they ski for hour or so and leave , nice people.
beautiful place to be on a sunday afternoon.
i haven't been there since the big wet for a trip up the back in the sticks yet .
armed with new sounder im looking forward to a trip soon.
Maroons a great little fishery. The only prob in the summer months is the lake lice (ski/jet ski). Would love to see more snags in the place, that might slow em down.
