Willo, the spiral wraps excellent. Dunno why not many people have them as they really do decrease rod torque, especially with heavy reels. The advantage is lost as soon as you put it into a gimbal, but that rod is a jigging rod which is sometimes used without a gimbal.
The hard bit is working out the guide placements. I left this for gary howard to work out The other things is that they are harder to transport since the guides go all over the place, and you cant put them down 'guide up'. No probs though, just put in a vertical rod rack
What blank is it Willo? Post up some pics when its finished, i'd love to see it.

Mate I built This Spiral Wrap Snapper Rod on a Kevelarap 220-10 6-10kg Blank They are great Blanks this is the second Kevelarap blank I've used.
Hard to take pics of rods Will try and get better shot of it later
Tried it out for the first time yesterday. Got nothing big but got a few small squire on it and really happy with it.Can't wait to load it up with a big Knobby
