wide caloundra sunday
Hi all, fished wide caloundra yesterday, marvellous weather but the fish were fairly ordinary.
Most of the day they laid doggo on the seabed and refused the baits.
I caught the largest cuttlefish ever yesterday ,12kgs ,caught plenty at 7-8 kg but never this large,we also boated another one at the lower weight as well.
The pelargics were active at times as a friends boat next to us had a ballon out but unfortunately 8kg line was no match for whatever took the livie.
I caught a nice red emperor ,which was a bonus and we still ended up with quite a fair catch of pearlies but all babyweights (none over 2 kgs).
IT did cross my mind though as i laid over the bow in a glassed out sea feeding pillies to a dolphin ,it doesn't get much better than this ,cheers all no worries

Hi pete, wongy, colin and me,great day you missed out on ,quite a few club boats went out.
Salty and elite followed us up and another boat from the club too but i don't know the name of the boat but he stayed down the bottom marks on the reef and i gather he didn't do much good.
John was happy as we caught heaps of huge bonitos, when i caught the first one at 100 mts i was hoping for a good snapper but as it came up through the water column it didn't feel like a snapper, never mind, next time.
At least i got one trip up on you for a while, cheers gary
