    Taking the old Codger fishing.

After his big hip regrease and new ball joint, the old fellas hadnt been on the salty for sometime and was starting to get withdrawal systems.
So asfter a invite by Tim the Bream we headed up to the placid mooloolaba and did a spot of night fishing.
And to top it all off, it was supposed to be a Dark Side Affair and no Baits allowed on board.
Well after throwing our arms off for several hours, and not even loosing a tail of a plastic grub , Fred bring the plastic bag out and low and beholed its full of his new Secret Cured Bait.
So we despensed with the Dark Side except for the true to heart Tim who persisted with his flies and frangers.
Fred and I got our hands messy and turned to the Good Side of Messy baits.
And gues what, the messy baits won, and we started to land some bream, yes only bream you might say, well it was betting then being scaleless, and Fred neeeded some fresh meat for Breaky.
A good enjoyable night with Tim the Bream and a guided tour of the Mooloolaba.
By the time we got home around midnite, Fred missus was already in bed so had to tuck him in so he could dream of bream and salt in his veins again.
Next week its Snapper time, so that'll get him excited more.
Welcome back to the World of Fishing "Touchy" and Thanks to Tim (Zeekeeeeeeeee) for the invite and trip.
    regards

i did get 2 fish but they were bite offs.. bloody tailor!!! i was casting flies for slimey macks to give Touchy and Webby some bait seeing as the plastics werent working for them..

Thanks again Webby and Touchy, twas a good night, but a quiet night, the trawlers didnt fire at all for us, possibly due to the high tide and not enough run in the water at the time we fished them.. but it was still a bit of fun, even if all you did was hook up to Ropes Hopefully next time ill be able to take you up river either Maroochy or Mooloolaba and show you some creek fishing, maybe when the Jacks are on!

lol now the excuses have started tim.

tide too high. fish weren't hungry. wrong air pressure. wind out of the northwest. to close to full moon.

give us the truth tim... do these plastic things really work?

G/day brian seems that the old fella hasnt lost to much of that salt in his veins he seems to be holding most of the fish caught ! Good to see the old dogs teaching these young punks a thing or two . Must be time for another run to mud and co Brian ? i think theirs a bid red waiting for me !

sounds to me like there is a "Challenge" in the air !

    Bait Vs Fake.

Now as some you ferets know, I have bent a few rods up Mooloolaba way ( check the Avatar ), and consider these Frangers a Farce.

I might just have to get a gang together and show you Sunny Coast Franger Frowers how to dong the Silver Species.

the 11th & 12th of September looks the goods to hand out some lessons 8).

Yes, it may be a way off, but the inbetweens are booked solid.

What do you reckon Tim ?

    Cheers Phill
