Sneaky mid weeker ( bay )

Yes, the weather on Thursday night was great.

From Tuesday, we ( secret Bay deckie No1 ) and I planned a thursday night trip. Launched at Whyte Island 4.30pm and hit the water running. About 25 minutes later we were sounding new ground. Found buckets of fish life on sounder, also found sandstone / rock/ wreck/ ? with firsh attached.

Third bait in the water and bam, Squire ( 4.1kg ) in the boat. Thought it was the start of something big. Over the next few hours we had some runs, some vermin and a visitor.

Lots of lightning down south. Stayed til over the top of the tide, which was running slow despite the big tides and full moon. ( on Sunday night ).

More squire, Bream and others were taken and released.

The new place has POTENTIAL written all over it. So don't even think about asking for the marks

Anyway, back to ramp at w.o.t and home in bed by midnight, awake at 4.45 and off to work.

Just another day in the Office ( Moreton Bay ).

Cheers Phill ( mid week, mauler )

    Hi Phill.

    2 Questions,,,,

When does a squire become a snapper? I think it would have to be around the 3 - 3.5kg mark. That is a pretty good fish. Maximum size is around, or just a bit under 10kg, they mature for spawning between 27 and 32 cm which is less than 1kg. Have probably had 3 - 5 years of pumping out eggs before they get to this size. Geez, what more do they have to do to be considered a grownup?

Without giving away marks, would you say that there was still an Island involved,, but just not your usual island?? And is there a y in then subject and a j in the name?

I do have a 3rd question, but will leave that for another day (related to an east bream spot?)

The trip may have been sneaky, but your posts are at least equal.

    Well done Phill

I've printed your brothers photo and will use it as a reference to catch myself a big Red or 2 - I'm holding you responsible if I don't catch one
    Cheers,

    Phill,

Shit, I new I should have given the fraser trip the flick, could have followed you (draped a camo net over the Cyclone) to your new Snapper spot 4 kg, yep that's a Snapper, even in Webby's books

Been studying the photo of your Bro on Indian Head, and judging by the angle of his arm and the curvature of the Earth, your secret 'Red' spot is somewhere to the right of Mars !!!! Thanks Mate, lucky I've got the Red Rocket

    Cheers
    Craig
