Thread: Southport Sand Pumping Jetty - The Details

Re: Southport Sand Pumping Jetty - The Details

Well Gazza, everyone is entilted to their opinion, and I am expressing mine.

The Sand Pumping jetty, was built to PUMP SAND. bugga me, how about that, and NOT a fishing platform !

    I noted your Avatar, Gazza,......mmmmmm !

Fishing is for recreation, not profit. ??? Matter of fact, the GC council charges $3.50 for " fishermen " to use THEIR facilities for criminal purposes. This, in itself, should be enough for you to start the emails rolling out to all and sundry.

As for being a " stupid " statement, well if it is, so be it, but it is my statement, and therefore does not represent the opinions of the Ausfish management.

Let's look at my statement another way than your interpretation. You say that I want to " kick everyone out because of a few scumbags ". Well, I'll put this slant on it. Close it because it is a SAND PUMPING JETTY. A money making venture for the GC City Council. A place of criminal activity. A place of ill-repute. An environmental eyesore.

Further, where did folk fish prior to the Council opening up the jetty for rec fishoes ? The walls, the beaches, the Broadwater.

Just because one finds an opportunity to make financial gain, despite the consequences, does not excuse one from the responsibility that comes with that decision.

That is, the GC city council must take responsibility for all and any criminal activites that take place on said SAND PUMPING JETTY. Should charges be drawn, surely the Council and it's members should e standing side by side with the Environmental Vandals that inhabit this SAND PUMPING JETTY.

anyway, Gazza, thanks for your input and coments. As always everyone is welcome and encouraged to voice their opinions.

    ???

    Cheers Phill

Landy has a good idea as long as it can be kept in hand and does not escalate to a gang war I would love to be there with a camera to record the going on If the rest of the media was there then well and good Courier Mail would probably run the story. The government is in damage minimizing over the energy they don't need bad press I imagine some poor fisheries officer would be told to get off his ass and go sort it out:-)

Landy has a good idea as long as it can be kept in hand and does not escalate to a gang war take a video camera to record everything incase you need evidence.

    i like a man ,who doesn't mind being A BIT SILLY..... [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]....

Mate, I'll give you a silly comment back (1st. time this year )

If pedophills started to congregate at your local park , would you just simply BAN your kids from forever going there ???
    ....or charge admission or somethun

The SAND pumping Jetty a-l-s-o seems to be a great place to a-l-s-o access fish by GOOD people as well!!!!!!

Think about it mate , I know you mean no wrong
    .....but you are....

p.s. spose Womenhoe and the Some-are-set DAMS ,were only built for supplying water to briz-bane ,as well.
They seem to charge as well, don't they?

    Anyways [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
    to quote me

"POLICE supply the paddy wagons and Fisheries BOOK 'EM"

or you'll have this bullshit in QUEENSLAND.....no way mate.

Phil, maybe you should tell a greenie group about this mate, they'd probably sue the GC council on behalf of fish everywhere for allowing this to happen on a site that they charge for. The charge does seem to imply some degree of monitoring would be necessary as you said, good thinking. I bet the EPA would love to hear about this, probably start something big. If they got involved there'd probably be plenty of noise. Some good ideas being thrown around now.

Just cleanout the scumbags , take a few weeks, word-of-mouth in any language will get around , and a new type of responsible RecFisho will take over ,and be the 'majority' [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
    [smiley=curtain.gif] ....... [smiley=laola.gif]
