Offshore moreton saturday 7th
Hi all, marvellous day although it was blowing a fair bit to start the day and was cold as well.
We never caught any monsters today with 5kgs being the best snapper but we still bagged out with prime fat fish and the day turned out superb.
There was more whales out at tempest today than for the entire season, flopping around the boat, we seen pod after pod.
They also had a lot of dolphins swimming with them today, not a sight i've seen before and the surface of the water was thick with the snapper fry ,should be a top season in a few years time if only 2% survive, cheers all no worries

How good where those whales ??
We where heading back to Bribie from Bulwer and had to slow down and change heading to avoid 2 whales playing.
We had almost fallen asleep on the trip back due to the perfect conditions when this massive black thing launched out of the water and rolled.
I sh@t myself.
We cruised away from them out to about 100m and sat for awhile.
Caught our first decent fish on Moreton, seen dolphins, turtles and then the biggy.
What a place we live in.
Cheers

Good to see that you got on to a few as well as the bonus of the whales. I wondered how you wet at Curtin.
Your post reminded me of a year ago on a family cruise around the bay in flat conditions with the then 4 and 5 year old kids and coming across a pod of dolphins that we stayed with for 15 minutes up close. Yes, it is a great place to be.

Re: Offshore moreton saturday 7th
The whales must have all departed at the same time for everyone to see so many, strange how they must work it out for themselves and i forgot to mention that there was two calves in amongst the pods and the weather was bad today.
I just finished talking to snappa and he did very poorly,i think i should buy some scratchies with my luck of late.
Went fishing last week on sunday and saturday was lousy but sunday was productive and viceversa this week, cheers all no worries
