Hey at least those grinners are good for something.
Its great to see the kids out on the water having fun.

Cheers Brent. My anchor's plenty big enough but it kept picking up rubble.....I don't think the deckie wou'ld be too pleased if I asked her to lift that bugger of yours :-)

As for the grinners.....I've pulled some good fish on 'em in the past particularly when I've used a fillet cocktailed with squid. They also come in handy for keeping the kids occupied.....they call 'em Gremlins :-)

    cheers

Great fish Kev - from somewhere in the middle of the bay?? What a surprise to pull that from amongst the grinners and rays!

    Cheers,

[smiley=2thumbsup.gif]So true Moondancer. There are times when I could wring their bloody knecks [smiley=furious2.gif]and other times when you think they grow up so fast that you're losing 'em. Fishing with 'em has it all fall into place.... There's never a wrong word on the water even if they (particularly the females) :-) set off in a moody over something that's happened earlier. All is forgotten at sea............I only wish they'd apply themselves to their homework as much as their fishing[smiley=book2.gif]

A mark on the western side of the Brizzy river channel Jeremy. A good chuck on one side of the boat puts you on mud flats which produces whiting, shovellies, stingies and shark fairly consistently. On the other side is a drop off littered with "debris". Been broke off a few times there when whatever they were went to ground. It's a bit of a bugger getting past the stripey grunters and other pickers but this time it paid off.

Considering you had a live grinner on Kev, he probably ate the stripeys and scared off the other pickers, but it looks like the Cod was not going to be put off.

BTW you must have more patience than a statue to take 6 kids out with ya. Wouldn't be me for quids , but it is great to see you are training another generation of fishermen (er persons).

Cheers mate. Normally use cuttle or occy when those pickers are about but I didn't have any on this occasion and the buggers were making short work of a whole squid. The grinner was my last hope of getting past 'em.

As for the kids.....they're well trained :-) do their own baiting and unhooking.........even do it for me on occasions :-)

    cheers

Really sorry to hear that Kev. Hope all goes well... No reason why not. I have had 12 operations over the years. These doctors are pretty good. Positive attitude and just go along for the ride.

Cheers mate. Que sera eh? Not a lot we can do about it. If it's gotta go, it's gotta go :-) !2 ops? That'd just about do me in as I have a thing about hospitals, despite my deckie being a clinical nurse. It'd probably do the staff in as well........12 times as much whingeing ;-)

    cheers
