Where about in the Tweed and on what did you catch them???
looks like a GT and 2 big eye trevally there to me. So where are the monsters which you need braid for [smiley=huh2.gif].
Not having a go at you, good sport those little trevally, but you could catch them on 2 kg line no problem, probably 1 kg [smiley=zzz.gif] [smiley=rifle.gif]

well. i got spooled on 20 pound squidgy braid last night., lots of big fish hookups but nughin landed. could have cought those fish on 4 or two hey? ill give you two chances, none and buckleys. we use 10pound bream outfits and get a good workin, just over a patch of reef and celp. nailed ten gooduns last night and did i mention a chap got four kings in the same are of 6kg plus? i got them round the piggery render so i will see ya down there on the weekend?
sounds like there are some good fish in your hole there Bigal!. Kings, big trevally, sharks? What bait are you using, or are you using lures?
Why not chase the fish if you are close to getting spooled? I have a poly ball attached to the end of my anchor rope, so when the need arises, I just throw the lot over the side, start the engine and go. I can do this by myself no problems. Or get your decky to pull the anchor or just drift the area? Must get you wandering what they are!

2 or 4kg well try 1kg!
like kev in our club catching 10kg milkfish on 1kg!
hey jeremy i think its 3 big eye..... dude
jeremys rite to say chase the bastards and don't get spooled or test your drag and see if you really are using the line class properly after a fish attains full speed try upping the anti on em and go to half line class weight, if your getting spooled its time to see if you can get busted off, in any case it sounds like a stack of fun bigal.

i might add that i have ben fishing for 14 years, and i have a 4000 sedonia reel (shimano) that is running 20 pound rapala braid. using squidgys after dark at night on the rocks no boat. in a boat id be fine. on a sand bank all good where we fish... gotta pull em in hard or get dusted oin the rocks.
and yeah bream are only bream after 35cm
bream are only bream over 2kilos' thats were down south has a better bream fishery then here my elder brother once caught a "milo butcheri" of 8lb at luna park wharf on a black crab- ugly old and smelly but she was a big bitch of a fish.
my best is 6 1/2 lbs on the tuross river south of batemans bay, caught 5 bream in that session all over 5lbs.
to stop the bream reefing you you need a longer rod more important then even line class, bream on heavy line arent as much fun as using 2kilo or 1kilo- but you got to know the bottom contour and why you are getting done.
