Got to admire that - on 6kg !!! My biggest was last year - 1770 around 22/ 23kg. Never mind the line (heavier than 6kg!!) but my arms were nearly busted of!! This guy deserves the record! Top fishing sport!!

gear used was 6kg moi moi igfa approved line jinkai leader
& gamaksu hook he was fishing for jobfish & during the prolonged fight deckies called it for a shark & to cut the bloody thing off also the fish was hooked in the corner of the mouth so certainly there was an element of luck involved.
don is an avid fisho however & i think he made a lot of his own luck with patience & perserverance
also he's a bloody good bloke
