Nice haul of trout DB and the macks always top a day at the reef havent been wide for a while but youve given me all the motavation i need thanks

Thats ok M8, was just trying for locality as I am making notes of where and what month etc of roed up trout.
Had 1 report from a m8 of a doz trout from eastern patches last week and not roed up and have a m8 of a m8 pro trout fishin and sending me some valuable info regarding catches where when roed or not etc. I have been getting some good info at the ramps etc too.
I will be putting in a submission for the 9 day closures to start in September and need real facts.

Mate I don't see the need for the September closure. I doubt any spawning would occur then. The December one will help with the Island (Bar Cheek) Trout as apparently they breed a bit later. These closures are not necessarily to stop us catching trout with roe in them before they've bred (it's the same as me catching them in July, they still missed out on one more breeding season) it's to stop heaps getting caught while they're easy to catch and during the calmer times. The next two weekends are the perfect example.

PS the roe was still only small in the trout but the sharkies were full and
I'd say close to spawning.
