Brisbane Offshore Monday 02-11-04
Eventually, after much to-ing and fro-ing, decided to head out Tuesday. Went out through South Passage with no problems and started fishing at about 0600. Seas were OK with light E/NE wind. Must have been some current as, when combined with the wind, the drift was a million miles an hour. Wind was picking up steadily. Took an old mate with me who had never fished out here before and we couldn't raise a scale. the closest thing to life we saw was a couple of whales cruising around. Lots of Bluebottles in the water so there must be some wind or current on out wide. Also huge trails of Coral Sporne running North-South as far as the eye could see. Gave it away at 1230 and came home fishless. Due to the circumstances, I did not enforce the Pants-Down rule on this occasion.
Cheers,
BIGNICK.

We all have had days like that. It just makes it easy for the next trip to be an improvement. Better luck next time. Tony.
