Went chasing the pelagics off point lookout with CJ (magic pudding) and Shane (bazzaman), bit of a northerly as we left the ramp but it didnt increase which was a bonus.
Out the bar and east we went searching for the birds, with the sea a bit sloppy the lures went out at the first sign of bait. we didnt wait long for action, a nice little fin soon gobbled the pakula for CJ. iced and deck cleaned we were on the move again, have to give the raymarine sounders a plug, find the bait the fish arnt far away
by 7am we had a couple of fish each and no room left in the icebox, as the morning went on a succession of yellowfin and the odd stripy were released, we stopped counting at about 20 yellowfin, a few lures went MIA on the 8-10kg gear, possibly wahoo.
duckbill, if you put the time in you might get one that way. they usually are down deeper, casting behind a fish hooked on the troll would probably be the best bet, around here anyway.
It was definately worth waking up at 2:20am for! Thanks rob and shane, it was a great day out. It probably would have been worth a livebait for billies, but we didnt have a tag pole so it would have been frustrating had we got one.
Yeah good day fellas!!! Thanks again Rob, thinkin you should start up your own charter business almost guaranteed to bag out! Have to get some of those magic blue pillys they sure do the job.
